Further Development of Studies and Teaching

Regular reforms of the study programmes are a sign of an established quality culture. The studies and teaching unit advises and supports the departments in the planning and implementation of organisational and curricular further developments of studies and teaching.

Further Development of Existing Study Programmes

The existing range of degree programmes is regularly reviewed within the framework of the FH Potsdam's quality management system and, if necessary, further developed. Requests for changes to degree programmes can be sent to the studies and teaching unit at any time, preferably by e-mail.

A distinction is made between major and non-major changes. In the case of a major change to a degree programme, notification to the MWFK and the accreditation council is required. Further information on substantial changes can be found here. If the changes are very extensive or are classified as quality-reducing, the study programme in question may have to be re-accredited.

Programme Accreditation

The aim of accreditation is to ensure the quality of teaching and studies by establishing minimum standards. In principle, this is realised by means of quality assessments by external experts. Accreditation procedures provide students, employers and higher education institutions with reliable orientation on Bachelor's and Master's programmes. The University of Applied Sciences Potsdam follows the model of programme accreditation, in which each degree programme is assessed independently.

The studies and teaching unit coordinates the accreditation procedures and supports the departments in all necessary steps.
