The Study

Experience, reflect, change – studying social work dual-digitally

The dual-digital bachelor's degree program in social work (BASA Dual-Digital) is a practice-integrated program. Parallel to the basic studies, you continuously gain experience in your practice site two days a week and deepen your knowledge in one of the two study tracks "Youth Services-School-Community" or "Social Services" of public and independent institutions. In the process, you will receive a monthly financial allowance.

You will be accompanied in your professional development by fixed contact persons from the university and the practice center. Teaching in this degree program takes place both face-to-face and digitally. A central instrument is the development of a Mahara ePortfolio to accompany your studies. In addition, the program promotes digital competencies in the context of social work – in the course of study and for on-site practice.

Is this course of study a good fit for you?

As a student of the Bachelor's program Social Work | Dual-Digital, you will have the opportunity to get involved in professional practice right from the start. The advantage is that you can directly apply what you have learned in theory. However, learning in different locations also requires a high degree of self-organization. Thanks to the study concept of blended learning, which combines e-learning formats with face-to-face teaching, the study program simultaneously offers a great deal of flexibility for your individual course of study.

In general, you should be open to digital technologies in the BASA Dual-Digital study program. A key focus is on advancing digitization in the context of social work. This includes, for example, the implementation of online counseling, but also the digitization of administrative processes. If you also have a scientific interest and research projects represent a professional perspective for you, then the dual-digital social work degree program is the right choice.
