Low Hanging Fruits 1 – Quick Win through Digital Tools – Brilliant at Conferences

Friday, the 16th of June 2023, 10:00 to 11:00 am
Speaker: Julia Lee

Brilliant at conferences!

  • presentation of basic digital tools that are often used at conferences:
  • audience response systems (e.g. Mentimeter)
  • digital pinboard (e.g. Padlet)
  • collaborative text document (e.g. Etherpad)

Tools that are not always data protection compliant are often used at conferences. Nevertheless, it is important for teachers to be able to use them in a professional context. The focus here is not on the specific tool, but on the scenario in which it is used. The scenario can also be applied to the following teaching and learning scenarios:

  • digitally supported face-to-face teaching for large groups or group work
  • mobile learning and teaching, synchronous and asynchronous
  • digital pinboard and the Etherpad are also suitable for blended learning or online teaching
  • hybrid teaching

Further information on the event can be found in the flyer.

Moodle Plugin StudentQuiz - Empower your students.

Tuesday, 07/06/2022 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Students appreciate training questions to prepare for exams. For lecturers, however, it is time-consuming to provide a sufficient number of good questions for all the self-tests and exams. With StudentQuiz, students can create their own questions and share them in a pool. The business informatics expert Prof. Frank Koch from the University of Applied Sciences in Eastern Switzerland started developing and using StudentQuiz in 2016. The plugin is already used by around 1,200 educational institutions. We are pleased that Prof. Koch gave us an insight into the practice with StudentQuiz in the form of a web seminar and shared his experiences with us.

You can find more information about the event in the flyer.

Thomas Hüsing is requirements manager in the ZDT project Online Examinations. As a software architect and information architect, he has worked for the Environmental Policy Research Centre of the Free University of Berlin, among others.
